PH284 Overview
Acute Management of Wasting Syndrome (Cachexia)
PH284 is an investigational pherine with potential to enhance the subjective feelings of appetite in subjects with cachexia, a wasting syndrome associated with cancer, or other disorders related to appetite loss. Cachexia is a serious but under recognized consequence of many chronic diseases with body mass loss of >10% and a prevalence of 5 to 15 %.
Vistagen is currently evaluating the path forward to submitting an U.S. IND for cachexia, on its own or with collaborators, and the appropriate patient populations for demonstrating increase in appetite and weight gain in a second Phase 2 study.
